Indonesia: Inflation Lowest in Asia-Pacific

JAKARTA, suaramerdeka.com - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said, during the year 2011 many impressive achievements we've reached Indonesia, especially in the economic field. One of Indonesia's inflation rate in the fourth quarter of 2011 stood at 3.79 percent, the lowest in the Asia Pacific region.

"Facts and figures show the many accomplishments that we achieved in the past year, there are achievements which best expressed at the ASEAN level, there is also the best performance in the Asia Pacific region, and there is even the top three best achievements on the world stage," Yudhoyono said in his speech when opening plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office, Tuesday (3 / 1) afternoon.

Besides inflation, the President also expressed Indonesia's economic performance data in 2011. Namely economic growth in the same quarter which reached 6.5 percent. "That's the highest in the ASEAN region, even the other good news is, our export figures psychological invisibility of 200 billion U.S. dollars. It's certainly encouraging to us," he said.

Yudhoyono also explained several other achievements which won government in 2011 and then in the fields of economy and budget. Namely national income reached 102.5 percent of that specified in APBNP in 2011. The amount is USD 1199.5 billion. Whereas the national expenditure reached 97.6 percent, or Rp 1.289.6 trillion.

Yudhoyono added that in 2011 state budget deficit set at 2.09 percent, or Rp 150.8 trillion. But the realization deficit recorded only 1.27 percent with the amount of Rp 90.1 trillion. "From these data we can see that the government budget deficit is smaller than expected. While state revenues greater than expected," he said.

Head of State assured when all parties work harder and more synergistic, then in 2012, the government could re-print, and even improve the performance of it.
