Leadership involves influencing the process in setting organizational goals, motivate followers to achieve the goals of behavior, affect to improve the group and its culture. Leadership has a close relationship with motivation. This can be seen from the success of a leader in moving people in achieving the set objectives is dependent on the authority, and also the leader in creating motivation within each person subordinates, colleagues, and superiors leadership itself.
Types of Leadership
1.TipeAutocratic. The characteristics include:
• The decision is fully held by the employer. • Each step in the determination of technical activities and is given by superiors one by one all the time, so the steps will be taken later on is always detrimental to his subordinates. • Your boss and colleagues determine the specific task specific work for each subordinate. • Bosses tend to engage personally in giving praise or criticism to subordinates. • Less willing to participate actively in the activities of subordinate groups.
2. Type of Laissez Faire. The characteristics include:
• Giving freedom to the subordinates • Leadership is not involved in the activities • All work and responsibilities delegated to subordinates • Not have the authority • No co-ordination and supervision of both
3. Paternalistic type. The characteristics include:
• The leader acts as a father. • Treating subordinates as minors. • Always provide protection. • The decision is in the hands of a leader.
4. Type Militerlistik. The characteristics include:
• In the communication using formal channels • Using the command system command • • Everything is formal discipline is high, sometimes are sticky
5. Democratic type. The characteristics include:
• Participate actively in the activities of the organization • Characteristically open • Subordinates are given the opportunity to give suggestions and new ideas • In the preferred decision-making deliberations and consensus • Appreciate the potential of individuals
6.Tipe Open Leadership
This type is almost the same as the democratic type. The difference lies in the decision-making. In this type of decision is in the hands of a leader.
